Dominique Aegerter to miss Magny-Cours due to injury

After suffering injuries in a training incident Dominique Aegerter will miss Round Eight of the World Superbike Championship.

Whilst training in Austria the GYTR GRT Yamaha rider, Dominique Aegerter was injured in an incident. Aegerter was preparing for the remaining five World Superbike rounds when the injuries occurred.

Aegerter was flown back to his home country of Switzerland, where his injuries were examined. It was then confirmed that the Swiss rider had sustained multiple rib fractures and an injury to his right shoulder. Aegerter will undergo surgery to stabilise his injuries.

Although a full recovery timeline is so far unknown, it has been confirmed that he will miss Round Eight of the WorldSBK Championship at Magny-Cours.

After seven rounds in the 2024 WorldSBK season, Aegerter is eleventh in the Championship standings. Aegerter's best result this season was a sixth place at the start of the season.

With his future still undetermined, as his Yamaha contract runs out at the end of this season, Aegerter will hope to be back as soon as possible.
