Iker Lecuona will be back out in Team HRC colours as he returns to WorldSBK action this weekend after wearing the iconic Repsol Honda colours once again last weekend at the Dutch TT.

After a bruising weekend at Misano last time out in the WorldSBK paddock Iker Lecuona will be aiming to pick up a strong haul of points this weekend.

In between the last WorldSBK round and this weekends WorldSBK round from Donington Park Lecuona has been kept busy with other HRC commitments. The Spanish rider was flown out to the Netherlands to join back up with Repsol Honda at Assen.

Lecuona partnered Marc Marquez in the Repsol Honda garage for the Dutch TT. However, the results did not go his way. Lecuona finished 20th in the Sprint Race and then while running in 11th place in the main feature race his Repsol Honda suffered a mechanical issue and he was forced to retire from the race.

But back in WorldSBK Lecuona is looking forward to his second outing at Donington Park, where last year he finished inside the top ten in all three races.

"I remember from last year that I really like the Donington track even though it’s a challenging one, especially for us." said Iker Lecuona ahead of his return to WorldSBK action. "So we will see how it goes this year, also considering that the track has recently been resurfaced.

"It’s been quite a busy time since the Misano round, as first I focused on my rehab and then, having recovered fast, I competed in my second MotoGP race of the season.

"I want to thank Honda and everyone on the team once again because it was an amazing weekend that gives me added motivation to keep pushing to improve and achieve our targets."
