MSS Colchester Kawasaki's Simon Andrews is to try a whole new front end on his Kawasaki's ZX-10R in today's second World Superbike qualifying session at Donington Park after being two seconds off his previous best British Superbike lap.
The Evesham rider is getting a new set of forks with K-Tech internals to try and get back to the top-four pace he showed at the Leicestershire circuit when the domestic championship was here in May.
"I didn't know if it was me or the bike to start with. It was puzzling and we needed to try some new things," said Andrews last night, while poring over his throttle data traces with bikesportnews.com.
"We are going to try some new forks and internals, which are the same size and set some good settings to go with these tyres. Qualiyfing should be interesting anyway."
