DONINGTON WSB: ANDREWS MISSES OUT ON WILDCARD RIDE

Lloyds British Jentin Yamaha rider Simon Andrews will miss out on an opportunity to showcase his abilities on the world stage after his team were forced to turn down a Donington WSB wildcard.

Andrews, who missed the Brands Hatch round through injury, had been tipped for a late entry for the Donington race but his team couldn't secure a one-event title sponsor to finance the ride.

"It's a shame to miss out on both WSB races. We have the bike ready and I now think I am fit enough to be competitive," said the Evesham rider.

"But we just don't have enough in the way of budget to do that race and to finish the British Superbike season in the way we want to."

Andrews continues to be the leading Yamaha rider in British Superbikes, taking a sixth and seventh today at Cadwell Park.
