WSBK | GAMBLE TO RIDE IN GSX-R CUP AT DONINGTON

ACU Suzuki GSX-R600 Trophy Championship leader, Stanley Gamble will take up a wild card ride this weekend in the GSX-R750 European Cup supporting the 11th round of the Hannspree World Superbike Championship at Donington Park.
The 23-year old Ulsterman took the lead of the one make GSX-R Trophy series at the sixth round in Angelsey and hasn’t been headed since. His cool and confident approach to each round has seen the 2007 600cc Irish Clubman Champion steadily rack up the points for his Championship, taking podium positions rather than going all out for a win.
He is now 27-points clear in the title chase and if he picks up the Championship, which still has three rounds to go, he will receive a ride on the Rizla Suzuki British Superbike machine at the Race of the Year at Mallory Park.
Gamble decided to race in the GSXR600 Trophy as a cost effective way to learn the UK circuits before using it as a stepping stone into British Championship racing.
Gamble said: “I’m thrilled to have this opportunity, I know the bike will be a bit different to mine being a 750, but it will do me good learning to adapt to different machines. I’ve raced at Donington before as the GSX-R Trophy had two races there supporting MotoGP and I got on well with the circuit. I want to learn as much as I can this weekend and hopefully put on a good display so that people will notice me.”
