DONINGTON WSB: GRAVEL TRAP TRIP COSTS ELLISON PODIUM

An excursion into one of Donington Park's gravel traps cost Hydrex Honda's James Ellison a podium place in the second World Superbike race this afternoon.

Ellison, who finished tenth in the first two-part race, ended up going across the gravel in the second outing and spent 13 seconds getting out - the gap to Troy Corser in third ended up being a little over ten seconds at the chequered flag.

"It's a shame I lost those thirteen seconds in the gravel trap because I could have been up there on the podium, but I can't be disappointed even though it was so close," said the Cumbrian.

"The team has spent a lot of money coming here but it's been worthwhile and I think they've enjoyed it, so it's a big thanks to Shaun and the sponsors as I've always wanted to race in World Superbikes. This has boosted my confidence going into the next BSB round at Croft next week."
