DONINGTON WSB: SUPERSPORT THE WAY FORWARD FOR LAVERTY

British 250GP star Eugene Laverty is eyeing a permanent place in the World Supersport Championship if his two rides as a replacement for Fabien Foret in the works Yamaha team go according to plan.
The Irish youngster, who has struggled all season on an old privateer Blusens Aprilia in 250GP, is hoping that at least a podium position is on the cards at Donington Park in two weeks' time when he slings a leg over the bike which was last campaigned by Karl Harris at Brands Hatch.
"To be honest, I can't wait for this weekend to be over so I can get out and test the Yamaha," said Laverty from Misano. "I haven't ridden a Supersport bike for two years but the Yamaha is capable and so am I, and there's no reason we can't get a result.
"I really hope it leads to a permanent ride in the future. 250GP is just too expensive until the four-strokes are brought in. It will be nice to have a chance to be at the front on a good bike instead of halfway down."
