Goldbet BMW’s Chaz Davies is relying on better weather conditions tomorrow so that he can improve on his race performance. The Welshman set the eighth fastest lap time in the World Superbike qualifying practice session this afternoon, but the day at the Donington Park circuit was hampered by wind and rain storms.
Davies appeared unfazed by the rain lashing down on the track in the first free practice session this morning, as he topped the timesheets, and was only one of a handful of racers who actually made it out on Leicestershire circuit. But for the Powys rider to improve on his result today he wants consistent weather conditions on Saturday.
“It is kind of a nothing day really, as everyone is going out there and just gauging the conditions and just getting a bit of a feel for it and checking it out for tomorrow, and seeing if it feels roughly ok. I want to try and get some preferably dry conditions tomorrow and consistent conditions too,” said Davies, speaking to bikesportnews.com at the circuit.
“It did not feel too bad out there, and the chassis itself did not feel too bad. We will see how it goes tomorrow, and conditions should be better tomorrow too, and we will do what we can.”
