Injured Pata Honda rider Leon Haslam will take a fourth-row start for tomorrow's Donington Park World Superbike double-header after riding through the pain of Superpole this afternoon.
The gritty Derbyshire man made it into the final qualifying session but is struggling to put his Fireblade where he needs it to be on track - something he finds frustrating - and is compensating for his broken leg using upper-body strength.
"It's difficult, frustrating and it hurts. I can't be where I want to be on track. I'm having to ride differently to achieve where I want to be. I can't hang off through left-hand corners and can't push through the pegs so I am having to do everything through my top half," said Haslam, speaking to bikesportnews.com after Superpole.
"I'm not so quick in direction changes, so it's a lot of little things. I know where I need to be on track to be fast but I'm just struggling to get there."
