Pata Honda's Leon Haslam will undergo more treatment for his broken right leg this evening after taking part in the opening World Superbike qualifying session with no strapping on the limb and without the help of painkillers.
The gritty Yorkshireman put in a banker lap in mixed conditions to ensure a spot in Superpole should the weather be worse than it was at Donington Park today - which would be a good trick.
"I wasn't going to go out if it was dodgy conditions but I needed to put a banker in and get in the top 15 in case it rains tomorrow morning," said Haslam.
"I've made a few adjstments to the bike which have helped my knee and that session was no painkillers, no strapping, nothing so it can only be better from now. I will get some ice on it and some more treatment, then make a better plan for tomorrow."
