British Superbike regular Gary Mason will make his World Superbike debut with the Pedercini Kawasaki team following a late call up to replace David Salom this afternoon.
Mason got the call as he attended a Chris Walker Race School event at Mallory Park to ask whether he would stand in for the injured Majorcan rider and he jumped at the chance to make his WSBK debut.
"It was a call out of the blue this afternoon and I said yes immediately. There wasn't even a choice to make. World Superbikes is a series I have never raced in and I'm so grateful to Pedercini for the opportunity and to Quattro Kawasaki for allowing me to take part," said Mason, speaking to bikesportnews.com at Donington Park this evening.
