PTR Honda's Sam Lowes will start from the front row of tomorrow's World Supersport race at Donington Park despite only doing five laps in today's second qualifying session due to illness.
Lowes is suffering from some sort of bug picked up from being repeatedly dunked in a river during a PR stunt on Thursday and spent good portion of last night on the toilet. His time of 1'31.155 from Friday stood up to today's performances with only team-mate Jules Cluzel able to topple it.
Aussie veteran Broc Parkes got third place with two-time champion Kenan Sofuoglu rounidng out the front row. Wildcard Glen Richards heads row two and you wouldn't bet against the wily Aussie putting in a strong race tomorrow.
Sheridan Morais jumped up the order with his final fast lap of the session and just edged out Richards' Smiths Triumph team-mate Billy McConnell, another of the British Supersport Aussies. Massimo Roccoli was eighth, Valentine Debise ninth and Fabien Foret tenth.
Luke Mossey, on the third of the Smiths bikes, finished in 12th behind Ronan Quarmby whiile Martin Jessopp finished in 19th.
