Donington WSBK: ‘The tough run continues’ for Laverty

Voltcom Suzuki’s Eugene Laverty did not have the best of results at the World Superbike weekend in Donington Park. The Monaco-based resident crashed in the opening race, and fell in the gravel, again in race two.

He managed to get back on the Leicestershire track, and salvaged some much needed points, and ended up finishing the day in 13th place. After a promising start, Laverty leaves Donington with little to show for the weekend’s hard work.

“The tough run continues. Race one we were looking strong but I made a mistake, through the chicane I dug my knee into the grass and it ripped me from the bike and I had a huge crash,” said Laverty.

“In the second race your guess is as good as mine. I was just cruising because I needed to stay on-board to get a decent finish, and suddenly I lost the front. It’s disappointing because the potential is so good.”
