WorldSBK

Iker Lecuona made his debut on the Ducati at the Jerez Test, but the Italian manufacturer has remained tight-lipped after his Test.

At the Jerez World Superbike Test on the 21st and 22nd of October, Iker Lecuona made his debut with the Aruba.it Racing - Ducati squad on the new Ducati Panigale V4 R.

Across the two days of riding at the Circuito do Jerez, Lecuona was able to complete 111 laps on his new machine, and ended the Test second on the timesheets, and was only 0.857 seconds behind his new teammate, Nicolo Bulega.

Although Lecuona cannot discuss his first test with Ducati, due to his contract with Honda, the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati Team Manager Serafino Foti, did comment on his new rider's first experience with the Panigale V4 R.

The Team Manager was asked about his expectations for Lecuona in 2026. Although he would not give a definitive target, Foti does believe Lecuona will make a step on the Ducati when compared to his time at Honda.

"For me, he is a really good talent, and he has really good potential," Foti told WorldSBK.com after the Jerez Test.

"I think with our bike, he can be faster, but we will discover this in the next few tests. This is the first test [for him] to just understand the bike."

When asked how Lecuona's first test with Ducati went, Foti remained tight-lipped on his new rider's feelings out of respect for Honda, who had allowed Lecuona to test the Ducati this early on.

"Welcome to Iker [Lecuona]," Foti said when asked about the new arrival to his team.

"First of all, I would like to thank Honda, because they allowed Iker to try the bike. So, for sure, I would like to say thank you very much to them.

"I would like to speak about that [Lecuona's test on the Ducati] in January 2026, out of respect for Honda, so I prefer not to speak."
