Despite a recent lifeline being thrown Bautista's way with Ducati and Aruba reevaluating Bautista's performances and the potential of retaining him for a sixth season. The Italian manufacturer has now decided to replace the 40-year-old in 2026.

After four years in the factory Honda Racing Corporation Team, Lecuona reportedly offered himself to Ducati for 2026, according to GPOne. Talks have progressed between the Italian manufacturer and the Spanish rider.

No deal between the two parties has been signed, but a one-year deal has been put on the table for Lecuona to sign to get on the factory Ducati in 2026. It has also been suggested that this deal for the young Spaniard contains an option for the 2027 World Superbike season.

During his four years in the World Superbike paddock with Honda, Lecuona has featured on two podiums, one in 2022 at Assen and the other in 2024 at Estoril. During his time in the series, he has been on an inferior machine but has still drawn the attention of the Ducati bosses.
