Inaugural Moto2 World Champion and former MotoGP man Toni Elias looks set for a switch to the World Superbike Championship after splitting with his Blusens Avintia team.
The Spaniard, who has had a torrid season in the MotoGP support class, has apparently jumped ship but where to hasn't been confirmed. WSBK bosses have said the move should be finalised on Thursday. The convoluted rumour mill reckons he is substituting for Michel Fabrizio, who has parted from Red Devils Ducati and skipped off to Pata Honda as Jonathan Rea's substitute.
"Toni already aspired to the Superbike World Championship for the next season, but a sudden offer of a team to the rider from Manresa in order to finish this year in this championship, has accelerated the process," said a Blusens spokesman.
