Red Bull Honda WorldSBK hero Leon Camier managed a brace a top-ten finishes at the Donington Park round despite being barely able to breathe and hang on to the Fireblade after 23 laps of the Leicestershire circuit.
But a full weekend's saddle time after his monster Aragon crash enabled the former BSB champ to further analyse what he and the team need to work on and Camier believes an engine upgrade is now vital to their progress through the year.
"We need an engine upgrade for sure. When I see the Kawasakis on track, well Tom I see on track, they have so much acceleration, so much punch off the turns and that is where we are lacking. I hope they get penalised and we get more power!" said Camier, speaking at Donington Park.
"In a dry race with grip, you need power and that is our priority. We've worked so hard with the electronics this weekend and I feel we have made some good steps."
WorldSBK bosses are due to evaulate the rev limits and concessions again this week and Camier is hopeful the powers that be will grant Honda the power boost he says they so badly need.
