Lorenzo Baldassarri could return to the World Superbike Championship with GoEleven as they continue to search for a rider for 2026.

The 2026 World Superbike Championship does not have a complete rider line-up, with multiple seats still available in factory and independent squads.

With Andrea Iannone on his way out of the Team Pata GoEleven squad at the end of the 2025 season, the Italian team has been on the hunt for a replacement for their Ducati Panigale V4 R.

Originally, it was expected that Dominique Aegerter would get the GoEleven ride, but his deal has stalled as he has not been able to gather the funds needed to sign with the team.

The Italian squad have also been in talks with Xavi Vierge, who will depart Honda at the end of the year. However, the Spaniard and GoEleven could not reach an agreement for 2026.

A new option for the Team Pata GoEleven squad has been reported by GPOne, as they have claimed the Italian team has approached Lorenzo Baldassarri to try and attract him back to World Superbikes.

The Italian rider is currently competing in the MotoE World Championship with Dynavolt Intact GP MotoE, but in the past, he has competed in the World Superbike and Supersport Championships.

After leaving the Grand Prix paddock at the end of the 2021 season, Baldassarri ended the 2022 World Supersport Championship in second place for the Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team.

He then went on to have an unsuccessful season in World Superbikes with the GMT94 Yamaha Team; he ended his only year on a Superbike in 18th place in the Championship.

After taking a gamble on Andrea Iannone back in 2024, Team GoEleven could take another gamble on Lorenzo Baldassarri after his sole season in the MotoE World Championship.
