Germany WSBK: Foret spoils all-Brit Supersport front row

Frenchman Fabien Foret saw fit to spoil an all-British World Supersport front row at the Nurburgring this afternoon, bagging pole position with a lap which that pushed PTR Honda's James Ellison to the top of the second wave.

Foret's 1'59.258 was enough to depose Step Honda's Gino Rea from the lead with 20 minutes of the session left to run and even a late charge by series leader Chaz Davies wasn't quite enough, the Welsh Yamaha rider falling short by just 0.076s.

Rea ended in third place and a little over half a second off the pace while Parkalgar Honda's Sam Lowes kept his time from yesterday to remain in fourth. Ellison was only a hundredth slower than the reigning British Supersport Champion.

Massimo Roccoli was sixth with Davies team-mate Luca Scassa in seventh but six-tenths in arrears. The Motocard Kawasaki duo of David Salom, who is Davies' closest rival, and Broc Parkes are eighth and ninth with the second Ten Kate bike of Florian Marino in tenth.
