Lorenzo Baldassarri will reportedly finalise a deal with GoEleven Ducati for the 2026 World Superbike Championship.
After parting ways with Andrea Iannone for the 2026 World Superbike Championship, the Team GoEleven squad have been on the hunt for a new rider.
Initially, it was reported that Dominique Aegerter would sign for the Italian team after being replaced at the GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team.
However, the Swiss rider was originally unable to raise the funds to ride for the top-end independent World Superbike team.
This led the team to explore further options, including Xavi Vierge, who has since put pen to paper on a deal with the factory Yamaha squad.
The next rider that GoEleven explored was the former GMT94 Yamaha World Superbike rider, Lorenzo Baldassarri, who has been riding in the MotoE World Championship.
During negotiations with Baldasarri, Aegerter was able to find the funds for the GoEleven Ducati ride. However, it appears to be too little too late for the two-time World Supersport Champion.
According to Speedweek.com, Aegerter has lost out to his former World Supersport rider, Baldassarri. The Italian rider has supposedly signed a letter of intent with the GoEleven squad, and will finalise his deal this weekend at the Estoril World Superbike Round.
The last time Baldassarri raced in the World Superbike paddock was in the World Supersport Championship with the WRP-RT Motorsport by SKM squad on a Triumph Street Triple RS 765.
Since leaving the World Supersport Championship, Baldassarri has been racing in the MotoE World Championship across the 2025 season. He has featured on three podiums and is fourth in the Championship heading into the final round of the season.
