Aprilia's Sylvain Guintoli has elected to ride in the Moscow World Superbike round despite sustaining a disclocated collarbone in a pushbike accident on Sunday.
The likeable Frenchman also damaged the cartilage in the crash but intends to try and ride, reviewing whether he will be able to race over the weekend to claim as many points as he can in the championship chase..
"Last Sunday I had a bicycle accident and dislocated my collarbone. After many thoughts, I took the decision to ride in Moscow. It is going to be a very hard challenge and a very painful weekend but my aim is to fight for the Championship," said Guintoli.
This will be music to the ears of Tom Sykes who should be able to increase his advantage over the Frenchman in the title chase. He currently has a six-point lead while Guintoli's team-mate Eugene Laverty is 45 points in arrears.
