HASLAM ADMITS TO COVERT PHILLIP ISLAND TIMING

Stiggy Honda's Leon Haslam has admitted that he had his stopwatch out and was comparing times from the second set of World Superbike tests at Phillip Island to his own.

Writing in his exclusive bikesportnews.com column, Haslam said that the track temperatures and conditions were different from his two days on track, but he didn't get anyone lapping faster than 1'33.3.

"Conditions are always a factor at Phillip Island but we're in the same laptime area. It's hard to predict how much we might need to find but I'm feeling good and I didn't time anyone going much faster than me," said Haslam.

"I went up timing them and although I missed the first hour on the second day, I didn't get anyone going quicker than a 1'33.3. For them to go 2.5s quicker in that first hour is a big ask. Come Friday, we will see where everyone is at!"
