BMW Motorrad's Leon Haslam has remained at the top of the timesheet on day two of the Portimao World Superbike test with laptimes fractionally faster than yesterday.
Haslam's 1'43.2 was just enough to stay ahead of Aprilia's Eugene Laverty who got up from a highside to claim second place and was only a tenth slower than the Derbyshire man with BMW Italia's Ayrton Badovini in third place.
Max Biaggi was three-tenths behind team-mate Laverty on a 1'43.6 while Chaz Davies, on the satellite RSV4, matched his time from yesterday but is still getting used to the Aprilia. Leon Camier fixed his brake problems at lunchtime to set a 1'44.7 with Crescent test rider Alastair Seeley four-tenths behind him.
