Althea Honda's Tommy Hill was in a near crash while lapping Miller Motorsport Park in a golf cart driven by World Supersport man Matthieu Lagrive.

As Hill was talking to bikesportnews.com, Lagrive had to take avoiding action as another golf cart came up the inside, forcing a near highside as the Frenchman had to stand on the braakes.

"That was close. That was nearly a highside," said a breathless Hill down his phone. "Dunno who that was but it was pretty close and we nearly went over the highside. Bloody hell that, was close, I don't need that before the race."
