Althea Honda's Tommy Hill hopes he will be back in action for the next World Superbike round at Misano after being taken to hospital following a practice crash last weekend in America.
Hill lost the front of his Fireblade when the wheel hit a kerb at a funny angle which tipped him off and damaged his foot. The likeable former British Superbike rider also banged his head in the crash.
"We went out in the qualifying sessions on a used tyre and I managed to do a fairly good time and felt more comfortable. Unfortunately entering the Attitude corners I went into the first part well, and struggled to get the front connecting with the asphalt in the right which I then run wide, causing me to hit the rumble strip on the exit, ending my session," said Hill.
"I am very bruised and sore and took a hit to the head, and my foot is very painful. In my heart I want to ride and reach a result but, at this point I am unable to walk on the ankle and so it's impossible for me to race tomorrow, but I'm sure to be back in Misano Adriatico."
