Crocked Fixi Suzuki man John Hopkins is confirmed as an absentee from this weekend's Doningtin World Superbike round after being spat off his GSX-R1000 at Monza Parabolica.
It was though the American had just broken a bone in his right foot but further tests have shown he has also done some damage to his left hip and is now in consulation with a leading hip specialist and will have an MRI on Friday.
"Unfortunately after a series of tests done on my left hip, it is clear there is some serious damage preventing me from racing this weekend. I couldn't be more frustrated and disappointed for myself and the team as I've been looking forward to Donington WSBK for months," said Hopkins.
A replacement has yet to be announced.
