Strong rumour in the World Superbike paddock indicates that a proposed deal between MotoGP rider John Hopkins and the Stiggy Honda World Superbike team hit the rocks earlier this week.

It is believed the American was due to put pen to paper on Monday but some sponsorship and contractural issues meant the deal was postponed and may have been binned altogether.
