Nicolo Bulega was able to keep his World Superbike title hopes alive with a dominant victory in Race Two at Estoril.
After watching his title rival take victory in Race One and the Superpole Race at Circuito Estoril, Nicolo Bulega bounced back with a dominant race win in Race Two in Portugal.
The Italian rider has lost three points to Toprak Razgatlioglu during the weekend at Estoril, but has kept his World Superbike Championship hopes alive after beating the Turkish rider by 4.868 seconds in the final race of the weekend.
"I always believe in myself, and my team, this is the most important thing," Bulega told TNT Sports after winning Race Two at Estoril.
"We were able to improve a lot throughout the weekend. This morning was not enough, but I knew in my mind that I had the potential to beat Toprak [Razgatlioglu] here. I knew it would be very, very, very difficult, because he has been incredible all year.
"Especially here at Estoril, he is always extremely strong. I just believed in myself and my team. It was a very good race, it was a strong pace, and I did not make any mistakes, so it was a very good race."
The 2025 World Superbike season finale will take place next weekend at Jerez, a circuit where Bulega has had success in the past and is confident heading to.
"Jerez is one of my favourite tracks, I know I have a good chance to win in Jerez," he explained when discussing his title chances.
"For me, it is a track that I really like. When I was in Moto3 as a rookie, I got my first podium there; it is a track that I like a lot. I will try to do my best.
"It is difficult because Toprak only has to finish in second, and at the moment, me and him are doing another job. So for him to get second right now is quite easy, and for me, a win is not enough.
"I never give up, and I will try in Jerez."
