"I am just going to keep my mouth shut and hope the results speak for themselves..."
This weekend Garrett Gerloff will race his Kawasaki ZX-10RR for the first time after months of pre-season testing.
The American has switched from a BMW to a Kawasaki for the 2025 season and has enjoyed his time in the Puccetti Kawasaki camp so far.
"It has been such a nice offseason with the winter testing, getting to know the team, and getting to know the bike also," Gerloff told WorldSBK.com.
"I feel pretty much right at home, I am looking forward to starting."
Despite a disrupted pre-season schedule and difficult weather conditions, Gerloff is happy with his ZX-10RR. The 29-year-old even stated that his new Kawasaki felt like 'an old friend'.
"I have been super happy with how I feel on the bike, it feels like an old friend," the American explained.
"It has a similar feeling to some bikes from the past. But I am really happy with how the front of the bike feels and the feedback that it gives me. I feel like I have been able to ride a bit differently to the past which is something that can be positive.
"I am happy with the speed that I have for the most part, there is still more that I need but with the little time I have had on the bike I feel like I am in a good spot."
When asked about his goals for the 2025 World Superbike season Gerloff was hesitant to give a narrow answer. Instead, he stuck to a broad goal and wants his 'results to speak for themselves'.
"The bike felt good right away so I am hoping that means we can have good results right away," Gerloff stated.
"I want to be close to the front like always, that is my goal as a rider. I want to be seen on TV rather than just being one of the names on the list [on the side of the screen].
"So, that is my main goal just to be upfront, but anything more specific than that I am just going to keep my mouth shut and hope the results speak for themselves."
