Andrea Locatelli and Yamaha were back on the podium at the Emilia-Romagna World Superbike Round after two difficult weekends.
Since claiming his maiden World Superbike win at the Dutch World Superbike Round, Andrea Locatelli had not featured inside the top five at Cremona or Most.
However, the Italian was able to get back in the fight at the Emilia-Romagna World Superbike Round. The Pata Maxus Yamaha rider was inside the top five in every race and featured on the podium in the Superpole Race.
"Finally, we are in a good point and are in a good position," Locatelli explained to WorldSBK.com.
"We have found a good feeling, especially here in Misano. Yesterday we had a good race, but I think today we made a step, and we did a really good job and were able to finish on the podium in the Superpole Race.
"Then I lost the possibility to get another podium in Race Two, but I pushed hard and I did my best, but this was the maximum result we could get.
"But a top five is not too bad, and we got a lot of points for the Championship, which is good because the last couple of rounds we missed a lot.
"I want to continue like this, I am focusing on the next one, and I hope we can continue making good weekends until the end of the season."
Locatelli was in the fight for a second podium in Race Two, but he lost out to Alvaro Bautista. But the Italian is happy with his progress and hopes the second half of the season can continue like this.
"For sure everyone was strong," he said when asked about losing out on a second podium.
"Riding on this track today was a bit harder than yesterday; today the temperatures were higher. I think we did really well, we beat Petrucci today, yesterday it was really close, so I think we have made a step.
"If it is always like this, we can be happy. We need to try to find more to close the gap. Then we can be sure that we can get more than one podium a weekend.
"We are working really well, Yamaha is doing an amazing job, and we make good plans on Friday. For sure, the test helped a little bit, especially at the beginning of the weekend."
