After a crash at Turn Nine during the World Superbike Superpole session Iker Lecuona has been declared unfit.

Iker Lecuona will not participate any further in the season-opening Australian Round after he crashed during the Superpole session.

The Honda HRC rider was on his first flying lap, but he fell at Lukey Heights with his crash bringing out the red flags.

After the crash, Lecuona was taken to the medical centre where he was diagnosed with a fracture to the fourth metatarsal bone in his left foot. This injury has resulted in him being declared unfit for the season opener at Phillip Island.

This latest injury adds to a long list of injuries in recent months for Lecuona. The #7 missed the final race of the 2024 season due to injury and also missed the Jerez Test after sustaining further injuries in a training crash.

Lecuona has a month before the second round of the 2025 World Superbike season. This will give the Spaniard a chance top recover before the first event in Europe.
