Recent reports suggest that Iker Lecuona is hot property for the 2026 World Superbike Championship.
Despite an injury-filled 2025 World Superbike season, Iker Lecuona has ended up on the radar of several teams for the 2026 season.
The Spaniard arrived in the World Superbike Championship with Team HRC at the start of 2022 after losing his ride with Tech3 in the MotoGP World Championship.
During his four seasons on the inferior Honda CBR1000RR-R, Lecuona has secured two podiums, one at Assen and the other at Estoril.
His current deal with Honda Racing Corporation will expire at the end of this season, and recent reports from GPOne suggest that he has interest from multiple teams.
The 25-year-old has been offered a contract for the 2026 season by Honda Racing Corporation, but other offers may catch Lecuona's eye.
It is reported that the chance to ride a Ducati Panigale V4 R has become a reality for Lecuona as he held talks with the Barni Spark Racing Team at the Balaton Park Circuit.
The Italian team have recently lost out on keeping hold of Danilo Petrucci as he has reportedly signed for the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team to replace Toprak Razgatlioglu.
Ducati have been the most successful manufacturer across the board in World Superbikes in 2025 as five Ducati riders have featured on the rostrum throughout the season. So, the opportunity to ride a Panigale V4 R next season will be a tempting offer for Lecuona.
However, it has also been suggested that another factory squad are interested in the young Spaniard as the factory BMW squad are reportedly interested in him as a replacement for Michael van der Mark.
The Dutch rider has struggled throughout the 2025 season, and Lecuona could complete a brand new rider line-up for the German manufacturer in 2026.
