After this morning's chaotic first World Superbike practice which saw Tom Sykes crash and the rest of the field pull in because the track was too dangerous, Xerox Ducati's Michel Fabrizio has put in the fastest time this afternoon.
The Italian put in a string of laps towards the end of the session to lap at 1'49.895 and was the only man to post a sub-1'50s circuit with Ten Kate Honda's Carlos Checa in second, two-tenths slower.
Sterilgarda Yamaha's Ben Spies was third after leading with 22 minutes to go while Checa's team-mate Jonathan Rea was fourth, half a second in arrears, rounding out a theoretical front row.
Rea led the way early on until Sterilgarda Ducati's Shane Byrne went fastest but Rea was soon back in front before Byrne was once again at tehe top of the sheets.
It wasn't until Spies put in a fast run of laps that Byrne's lap was bettered, and it looked like he would remain quickest until Fabrizio's final run.
Stiggy Honda's Leon Haslam went in front of Byrne with his last lap to be seventh quickest while Tom Sykes, who was only bruised in his crash this morning, was 18th.
