Ducati’s Chaz Davies can come away from the World Superbike round at Imola one happy rider, after clinching not one – but two second place finishes in Italy today.
It’s the first podiums for the Welshman, and maiden rostrums for his Ducati team at their home track. But the Powys based rider is not getting too carried away, as he still has some vibration issues with his bike, which will be looked at during testing tomorrow.
“I am very happy and I don’t think that anyone could catch up with Jonathan [Rea] today. I did my best today and I couldn’t have done any more,” said Davies, speaking at the track.
“It was the best weekend that I had, but I am still having vibration issues with the bike, it’s not chatter its just rear vibration.
“But we will work on that during testing tomorrow. But I am really happy with a double podium and it shows that Ducati are doing a great job.”
