Update 12pm: Staff at Hospital Barcelona's Vall d'Hebron are preparing to receive Lascorz, who is being flown in from Italy

Update 10am: Lascorz is still sleeping and surgery was to to reduce a T6 vertebrae elongation

Update 8.30pm: The team have issued a statement in Spanish which says simply there will be no further news until the morning. It would appear that Lascorz is also displaying symptoms of a broken collarbone and shoulder-blade.

Update 6.30pm: The Spaniard is apparently undergoing an operation to repair his sixth vertebrae.

Kawasaki's Joan Lascorz has been airlifted to a Bologna hospital after a crash in Imola World Superbike testing saw him suffer a suspected fractured vertebrae.

The Spanish star was flicked off his ZX-10R on the exit of the Tosa hairpin and was immediately transferred to the circuit medical centre where the injury was diagnosed. He was then taken by air ambulance to hospital for further treatment.
