Injured World Superbike star Leon Camier is back home in Andorra following his monster highside at Motorland Aragon on Friday which emulated Jorge Lorenzo's famous Laguna Seca off.
The Fixi Suzuki rider gashed his kneecap when all of his body weight crashed through it on landing but he says he has already re-gained some movement in the joint and hopes to ride next weekend at Assen.
"It was a big one. It was a bit like Lorenzo's crash but I think I went higher! It could have been much worse. I landed on one knee and that's what did the damage but I am hoping to ride at Assen," said the former BSB champion, speaking to bikesportnews.com with a faceful of sweets this afternoon.
"I'm still not sure why I crashed. We looked at the data and it slid a bit, so I got off the gas, then it went again, and then it loaded up and went big style.
"They had to pull everything tight to close up the injury but I have got 45-degrees of movement back already. Some of the muscle has gone because I was in traction for a while but I have seen the doctor here in Andorra and I will have another scan. I think it will be a last-minute decision whether I ride or not."
