Hot on the heels of news that Silverstone will retain its World Superbike race in 2013, bosses have today confirmed that the Istanbul Park circuit will also host a round this season.

It will take place on September 15, between Germany and Laguna Seca, and takes up the TBA slot that was in the schedule. Portimao has also had its Subject To Contract status lifted as well.

Mooted as the 'best racetrack in the world' by F1 ringmaster Bernie Eclestone, the circuit is of the left-handed vintage and was opened in 2005 to much applause - mostly by Ecclestone himself. The move will please reigning World Supersport Champion Kenan Sofuoglu, who will be able to race in front of his home crowd.
