Current World Supersport series runner-up Jules Cluzel suffered a massive blow to his championship hopes at the Jerez World Superbike round after a crash in second practice left him with a broken leg.
Cluzel crashed at turn five and after being examined by the circuit doctors it appears his title ambitions have taken a big blow as the diagnosis of an open fracture of the left tibia and fibula along with a right shoulder dislocation means he is unfit to continue this weekend.
The Frenchman has two weeks in order to get fit enough to pass a medical at his home Magny-Cours round while Kenan Sofuglu and PJ Jacobsen will try to capitalise on Cluzel’s misfortune.
