Jerez WSBK: Lowes ends Supersport year on a high

Yakhnich Yamaha’s Sam Lowes ended his spectacular World Supersport season in style, as he snatched the victory in the final race of the year from rival, MAHI Racing’s Kenan Sofuoglu.

The Derby lad is leaving the series to compete in Moto2 and he made sure that he cemented his last outing for his Russian team in dominant fashion. He did not initially lead the race from the opening lap that went to the former champ, but by lap five Lowes made his mark and pushed into first place.

The lead changed numerous times between the two rider’s but with two laps to go Lowes made a pass that stuck, and he went on to clinch yet another victory, with Sofuoglu in second.
