Althea Aprilia's Davide Guigliano took best advantage of poor conditions during the first day of World Superbike testing at Jerez today.
After a morning of wet and cold conditions, the track began to dry out and the Aprilia man got the best out of a non-totally-dry circuit to set the best time of 1'50.301. He was followed by the BMW of Marco Melandri, who was three-tenths further back with Sylvain Guintoli, on the works RSV4, in third but some two seconds off the pace.
