John McPhee has announced a split from the Vince64 by Puccetti Racing team, leaving him without a ride for the remainder of the 2023 WorldSSP Championship season.
The Scot made his debut in the middleweight class this season after crossing over from the Moto3 World Championship.
However, while he made headlines with a shock podium in the wet from close to the back of the grid on his debut at Phillip Island and finished fourth in similarly sketchy conditions at Most, he has otherwise struggled to mount a consistent points’ scoring presence in the dry on the Kawasaki ZX-6R.
Currently 16th in the overall standings after scoring in only six of the 18 races thus far, a decision was reached for McPhee and Vince 64 to part ways.
“To get a podium at our first WorldSSP race as a new team and project was something special, we had some great moments and some difficult ones.
"It’s a shame but for reasons beyond our control we have decided by mutual agreement to part ways with immediate effect. Thanks to Vincenzo and all the guys at Vince64 for everything.”
