BSB | KEEPING UP WITH JONESY

I think we out performed Mallory Park BSB on the weather front, it was immensely hot and humid in Misano this weekend. I’m pleased with the result we got both for myself and my Parkalgar Honda team.
The weekend wasn’t a stroll in the park as we had a few problems at the start but as usual my Parkalgar team worked hard and we got it all sorted out in time for the race.
During first qualifying we just didn’t get up to speed, we ran my number two bike and it wasn’t as strong as my number one bike. Once we got it sorted out we were on the pace and got on the front row during second qualifying.
As soon as the race got underway it was clear to me that I didn’t have the same pace as Broc Parkes or Andrew Pitt as they were really pushing hard.
We could have had a slightly different set-up for the bike but you pay your money and take your bets and it worked out OK. My Parkalgar Honda team did the very best for me as they always do so it was good to get a podium finish for them. It is a tough track so we did well to finish second.
We have a team test coming up at Vallelunga and then it is on to Brno where I picked up my first World Supersport podium. That was the turning point of last year for us and I hoping things will pick up again from there this year. At the start of August we have Brands Hatch and that is followed by Donington Park which will give me the home advantage, plus I’ll get to spend some time in the UK and chill out with friends.
I need to catch up with my mate Tommy Hill after his crash at the Nurburgring. He has broken his femur again but at least this time he is up and about on crutches and not stuck in a wheel chair like last time.
I’ll be on it at Brno as I really want that race win.
Catch you all soon.
