Former WorldSSP king Randy Krummenacher has split with the EAB Yamaha squad after a less-than-stellar season and will switch to CM Yamaha as Luca Bernadini's stand-in.
The Swiss rider has only troubled the podium once this year and will now ride in place of Bernardini who was diagnosed with a T12 vertebra fracture following a race-two crash at Magny-Cours and underwent the operation to help reduce the fracture with the introduction of a plate.
His next steps and recovery time are being worked out, but with the injuries sustained he will be 'forced to miss a few rounds'.
“I would like to personally thank Team EAB Team Principal, Ferry Schoenmakers, who has understood the situation and left me free to ride the CM bike. The technicians working there are the people with whom I won the 2019 world title and so I see a real opportunity there," said Krummenacher.
"I also want to thank Alessio Cavaliere, team principal at CM Racing, for thinking of me as a replacement for Luca Bernardi. And I hope that Luca, a rider I very much respect, enjoys a speedy recovery and can soon be back on track."
