KYALAMI WSB: SPIES MAKES IT SIX POLES OUT OF SIX

Superpole three
Ben Spies 1'37.288
Michel Fabrizio 1'37.289
Max Biaggi 1'37.466

Xerox Ducati's Michel Fabrizio must have thought he had taken pole with his final lap but Ben Spies crossed the line just behind him and was 0.001s faster than the Italian. Max Biaggi grabbed a front-row start with his final lap, just in front of Noriyuki Haga.

Jonathan Rea heads the second row with a 1'37.634, followed by Jakub Smrz, Carlos Checa and Tom Sykes.

Superpole two
Ben Spies 1'37.423
Michel Fabrizio 1'37.642
Carlos Checa 1'37.650

Spies only did two laps to set the quickest time in the second session with Fabrizio putting in a last-ditch effort to haul himself out of the danger zone. Checa was also quick out of the blocks only doing two laps. Biaggi also left it late and pulled off his quick lap with only a minute left on the clock.

Leon Haslam fell foul of some late, fast laps by Fabrizio and Biaggi, and looked to have a problem on his final lap. Championship leader Haga took the very last place in Superpole three and it looked like he might fail to make it as Yukio Kagayama was on a flier on his last but Haga just survived.
