KYALAMI WSS: BRAINS' KYALAMI DIARY - DAY ONE

Hate Fridays at the moment, all the work has been done, and we just seem to be waiting around for FP1. Sat watching the suberbikes go out it was sad to hear about Laconi's crash, get well soon mate.

1.30pm and free practice begins, before the practice i had already sat   with Eugene and discussed a plan for the 45min session. Bike 1 new engine, 5 steady laps, 5 flying laps, Pit in and check data. 27 mins remaining and eugene was P5 while bedding a motor in.

In the box and no changes, happy with chassis, just small gearing mod. Back out 10 mins to go, new tyre ended up P2. Debrief and minor changes for the afternoon, working mostly on gearing.

We had two compound front tyres to test in FP2 and modification to the chassis, 5 mins remaining and Eugene goes P1 for the first time this season and Pits in. While entering the pits, Superglue post a faster time knocking Eugene to P2.

Eugene decides to sit the remaining time in the session out to save his tyres, as at 5.05pm inAafrica the trac temp had drop 9 deg to 21 and things was getting chilly. Happy with day and debriefing Eugene making a small chassis change for the morning.

Fingers crossed, we can get a podium this weekend, both Cal and Ten Kate are looking strong at the moment, but we all know race day is where it counts. Let's see what the morning brings.

Ciao
