In world championship racing things oughta run like clockwork. Delays can happen for one reason or another, sure, but with the sophisticated digital timing systems we have nowadays it isn’t difficult to have a few clocks running in unison.
Long story short I crossed the finish line clock with more than two seconds remaining, pushed hard for a fast lap risking crashing in the process only for my time to be disallowed because that clock was running a little behind the official timing. Nice job boys, nice job. And so I was shifted back from 2nd on the grid to 3rd which isn’t a big issue, it’s more the principle of it.
Timekeeping issues aside things went superbly well. This morning was a wasted session as it was almost wet before it almost dried before it then rained a tiny bit more just to make sure we’d get nothing productive done!
In the afternoon qualifying I put it on the front row. The bike is handling nicely around this bumpy circuit although we’re still trying to improve it further, ideally to the point where it feels like I’m laid watching the race on the couch back home rather than holding on to a bucking 600.
It promises to be a great race tomorrow. My brother Michael got bumped down the grid at the end but I reckon he can challenge for a top 10 finish tomorrow. With a bit of Irish luck on our side we’ll be right.
Enjoy the race, I know you guys love watching us battle it out but I’d much prefer to clear off and win by ten seconds. That’s not going to happen though.
Catch ya’all tomorrow.
