CHAZ Davies says his team has finally found what he’s been looking for as he attributed today’s World Superbike win at the Lausitzring to the aruba.it Ducati squad.
Davies took a solid lights to flag victory after qualifying on pole, and was never headed as he cruised to victory by more than 10 seconds over Kawasaki’s Tom Sykes.
The Welshman admitted he was relieved to have started the latter part of the season on the top step of the podium, as the circus returned this weekend after the summer break.
“It was a long summer break but this is the way to come back so I’m very happy,” he said. “Everyone I think was a bit apprehensive for the first race back, it’s felt like a winter break it’s been so long. It’s great to be here and get straight back into the flow of things and kick off the last part of the season with a win.
“I can’t say a big enough thanks to Ducati and all my squad because during the break we worked hard, they worked hard on the bike to find out why sometimes I get the feeling that I want and other times don’t.
They found exactly what I was looking for and I’ve had good form in the summer tests; we’ve come here and that form has continued so I’m very ,very happy. That’’s my 14th career win and I’m just glad to get away from the number 13.”
