Factory Yamaha's Eugene Laverty will go to the Motorland Aragon WSB next month full of confidence after a test there saw him come away with a good race setup with four race simulations on three different tyres over the two days.
The Irishman, who had a historic weekend at Monza by winning his first ever World Superbike race and then doubling it in the afternoon, spent the two days sorting out setup for the Spanish track which is notoriously hard on rubber. Laverty's quickest lap was a 1'59.9, according to track officials.
“I like Aragon, it’s an interesting one, yet not simple at all. I just wanted to learn the track and I’m glad we had this opportunity. It was tricky to get good speed in due to the fast change of direction. I worked a lot on improving my lining and adjusting my riding style to suit the flow of the track. The bike was working very well though and I’m pretty sure that we can head to the race here next month with confidence," said the Toomebridge youngster.
