Eugene Laverty will get a taste of the Voltcom Suzuki he will ride in next year's World Superbike title chase at Jerez on Monday and says he cannot wait to 'get his leg over' the GSX-R1000  when he tests for the very first time fin Spain.

The World Superbike runner-up has never been with the manufacturer before, but has had dealings with Team Principal Paul Denning and is confident he has the ability to put in some great performances for the team.

Laverty was dropped by Aprilia this year, and now the rider has put all of the drama and uncertainty that followed behind him, but he won't make any speculations about where he wants to finish next year, until he has had that first test out on his bike tomorrow, before the compulsory testing ban kicks in.

"It's been a busy few months and great to be in new colours at last. I test on Monday and Tuesday in Spain and that will be my first ride on the Suzuki and I am really excited to get my leg over the Suzuki for the very first time, as I have never been with the manufacturer. The bike has got some potential but there is work to do but that is what testing is all about," said Laverty, speaking to bikesportnews.com.

"This is a new chapter with Suzuki and I am excited because Paul Denning and the Crescent Suzuki team want to get back to winning ways and hopefully I can be the guy to help them do that, and I will give it everything.

"This is the third time I have been in talks with Paul about joining the team, the first time was in British Superbikes, then the other was in World Superbikes and this time I finally agreed terms with them, and now it is third time lucky. We have been in talks for seven years, and now I have a one year contract and I want to do the business."
