Lowes ‘excited to get back to work’ as WorldSBK testing begins

Alex Lowes is taking a break from being a new father - to twins - as he rejoins KRT at Jerez for the first of 2022’s WorldSBK winter tests.

With four days on track scheduled over the next two weeks, the second two set for Portugal’s Autodromo do Algarve on Feb 8-9th, Lowes is eager to continue the work started in December after a season marred by injury.

Having spent the off-season working on his rehabilitation, alongside welcoming his two daughters, the 31-year-old is back to his usual energetic self ahead of Wednesday’s opening day on the Ninja ZX-10RR.

“I am really excited to get back to work for 2022,” Lowes said ahead of the action. “I’ve taken a good rest over the holidays and enjoyed some time with the new family. Now I’m feeling fresh and ready to get back to it with ‘Team 22.’

“I’m interested to test some of the new stuff Marcel, my crew chief, and the guys have been working on since our last test and start building up towards the new season.”
